Flora

The Garden has been designed to sit naturally within the historic setting of The Rocks, drawing on a considered selection of plant species to create a space that feels established, welcoming and alive.

Weeping Japanese maples provide delicate structure and seasonal variation, while Chinese juniper, white crepe myrtle and Teddy Bear magnolia introduce height and definition throughout the space. Layered beneath, Japanese box, Plum Gorgeous loropetalum and Maximus Indian hawthorn create depth and softness around paths, seating and open areas.

Lower plantings such as Emerald Falls dichondra and Prime White convolvulus add texture and gentle movement, while flowering varieties including salvia, gaura, Stardust euphorbia, hellebores and New Guinea impatiens bring colour and seasonal interest. Star jasmine weaves through the garden, adding softness and cohesion, while sculptural accents such as sago palm and frangipani contribute distinctive form.

As the seasons shift, the garden evolves. Flowers emerge and fade, foliage tones deepen or soften, and new textures come to the fore, ensuring the landscape feels active and cared for rather than fixed in time. This ongoing sense of change reflects the layered history of The Rocks itself — a place shaped by renewal and adaptation over many years.
